Hi Ron,

thanks for dropping by!

Very interesting stats from your training course - apparently the instructor is only 24% useful!

Seriously though, it seems that although man(kind) is open to persuasion through powerful words and language, actions are the only real proof of belief in stated values, truthfulness of intentions and authenticity of feelings.

And following your stats, man(kind) is open to learning via powerful teaching, but doing - repeatedly - is the only way to cement that learning.

Bye for now,

Re: Don't tell me; show me!

Hi, Jennifer,

Back in the 1950's, in my days in the Army (National Service) I did many courses, including an 'Instructor's Course'

They said that in a training environment that the troops would remember:
7% of what you say
17% of what you show them, and
* 70% of what they practice!

True for Florance Nightingale, true in the 1950's and true today!

Stay safe,

Thanks for the comment, Charlie.

And I agree with you about Twitter as a really useful PR machine. If tweets (or twarts - brilliant, Dana!!!) are supported by a strong promotional 'back-end', it's certainly a worthwhile addition to the PR machine.

Which leads me to another thought: I love the idea that now the possibility of someone becoming an 'overnight success' is very real.

Just look at Susan Boyle and Paul Potts.

Oh, and let's not forget the 'chk-chk-boom' chick!
lovely post... and i agree Twitter has us all in a flurry to pop the next thing out of our head to share our amazing wonder of news to the world (brain fart analogy is AWESOME LOL). it actually intrigues me more that so many like this mechanism (twitter) when you cant reply easily or get involved in a conversation about what they have twittered about. i like facebook status' for this fact - ie i can comment and the comment is in context - and i also really like Plurk (www.plurk.com) which is a timeline of one liners that you can comment and have conversations about.

i see twitter as a PR machine.

but i'm sure we're only at the beginning of learning what all these developments have in store for us - ie an evolution to "something"

You have made an absolute wonderful observation. Where is the context! I, like you, need context with advice.

Better still, I'd like to have posed a problem first! Perhaps not only context is important but subscription as well.

So why is it that subscribing to a 'quote of the day' is welcomed with a smile while an evengelical tweet makes us groan?

So unfollow, unfriend or unplug if you need to. Or maybe we should just allow and choose the parts we like and smile at the rest...
